Let’s talk about your business

10 QUESTIONS · PRACTICAL ANSWERS

PerformanceMy website looks fine. Why isn’t it bringing in enquiries?

A good-looking site can still leave people unsure what you do, whether you serve their area, or how to get a price. We look at the pages customers land on, the proof they see, and the steps between a visit and an enquiry. Sometimes the right fix is a clearer service page or a shorter form, rather than rebuilding everything.

BudgetWhat actually changes the price of a website?

A five-page brochure site is a different job from a site with online booking, payments, or a customer login. Content, custom features, and integrations usually drive the cost more than the number of pages alone. Your proposal sets out the build, what we need from you, and any ongoing hosting or software costs, so you can compare the full picture.

TimingHow long will the project take, and what could hold it up?

We agree on a schedule once the pages, features, content responsibilities, and approval process are clear. A straightforward service website and a custom booking or membership system need different timelines. Content, account access, and feedback are common dependencies. If you have a fixed launch date, tell us at the start so we can plan a realistic scope around it.

Moving your siteCan we replace the website without disrupting our email?

Yes, a website move can usually be handled without moving your email. We check where your domain, hosting, and email are managed before changing anything. The replacement is built separately, then the website records are updated while the mail records stay in place. Email and forms are checked at launch.

Search visibilityWe already rank on Google. What happens to those pages?

We identify the URLs and content already attracting useful traffic before deciding what to change. Important pages stay where they are when practical. If a URL must change, we redirect it to the closest relevant replacement, update internal links, and check the sitemap and Search Console after launch. Those decisions belong in the rebuild plan, not at the end.

ContentDo I have to write everything and supply all the photos?

You don’t need a finished folder of website copy to start. Existing brochures, service notes, and a conversation about your business give us something to work from. We agree who is writing each section and what photography is needed. Real photos of your team and work are especially useful for showing customers who they’re dealing with.

Editing & accessWill I be able to edit the site, and what access will I have?

We decide which parts you need to manage before choosing the setup. Changing service text or adding a project should not require rebuilding the page. The proposal should make the editing tools, account access, domain control, and any software licences clear, including what happens if you later change providers.

FeaturesCan you add online booking, payments, or a members’ area?

Yes, those features can be scoped into the project. We first map what customers and staff need to do, then choose an appropriate setup. We also identify transaction fees, software subscriptions, account ownership, and ongoing maintenance. The aim is a workflow your team can actually manage, with the key journeys checked before launch.

Launch & marketingDoes the website price include getting us found on Google?

The build and an ongoing search campaign are different scopes. We spell out the launch essentials, such as page titles, mobile performance, and making the site crawlable. Continuing keyword work, new content, and local search improvements can then be planned separately. You’ll know what is included rather than relying on a vague “SEO-friendly” promise.

Ongoing supportWhat happens when we need changes six months after launch?

A new service, a staff change, or a booking feature shouldn’t mean starting again. Straightforward edits can be handled through the agreed editing setup or support plan. Larger additions are scoped separately. We offer hosting and ongoing support, and make the included work and recurring costs clear before you choose a plan.
